The objective of this event is to serve as one-stop shop for the Serbian scientific and business communities to get information about the opportunities offered by the Seventh EC Research and Technological Development Framework Programme (FP7), and how to strengthen dialogue and networking opportunities in view of facilitating Serbia's integration into the European Research Area.

Representatives from the European Commission's Directorate General for Research will provide information, examples of specific work programmes and themes as well as explain practical aspects of participation in FP7 calls.

The Joint Research Centre (JRC), which provides scientific and technological support for the EU policy-making process, will present its activities in areas of priority for Republic of Serbia, such as food safety and quality, energy, nuclear energy and technologies.

COST which is one of the longest-running European instruments supporting co-operation among scientists and researchers across Europe will present the research opportunities for Serbia with the other COST partners.

The participation of senior representatives from the European Commission and the Serbian Government, make this event a unique opportunity to discuss the role of the Research policy in support of the EU pre-accession process.
